The long and winding road

My mate is 40, his travels are plentiful, his travels are adventurous. He is rugged, he is soft, he is daddy, he is husband.

His road has taken him many places but my favorite travel of his has brought him to me and our children. Bub, your greatest adventure is yet to come, yes, you have climb rocks in Yosemite, slept in snow, battled deer on a dark, desolate highway (cool wind in my hair, warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air, up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light, oh wait I got sidetracked), but having three kids five year old and under, you might as well be fighting a Kodiak bear.

Your birth is a reminder of someone I hold dear to my heart, it is a special day of all the days that you should be reminded you are loved. Thank you for being here, thank you for the beautiful children, thank you for being a part of my life, even though sometimes I want you to go fishing.

Happy Birthday, my Love, Happy Birthday. You have sown something wonderful, reap the rewards of your bounty.

  1. I hope in the end others will have found that my “Love” was my boldest quality and characteristic.
    But if 6 turns out to be 9… I don’t mind… I don’t mind.
