Holiday Fun Stuff

I have not had much time for many things, however I did have enough time to jazz up a wonderful picture from Moomp Photography for the holidays. I put it on my desktop help me feel more of the spirit while I am at work. I am but a novice with working on post picture production but I am finding the process entirely enthralling. Here is my latest project.

I can feel the excitement from the kids about Christmas. From an adult perspective it is only 7 days away, from a kids perspective it is F O R E V E R! I have more pictures to post but haven't rounded the ponies yet. In due time you all shall have a treat, I love pictures.

I am looking to build some new Christmas memories, why you ask? I am trying not to feel sad for those rite of passages my family has had to take in the past couple of years. Don't get me wrong, I am very lucky to have as many wonderful memories as I do, I just need to move one more step towards recovery. This new memory will be great, we will have the family over for Christmas, it is Brian and my turn to shoulder the responsibility of hosting the Who Feast with the Rare Who Roast Beast. All are welcome to come and join, and you know who you are, open invitation from me to you. The more love in the room the more hearts are mended, isn't this what this season is about? At least a part of it?

Anyway, more thoughts.......

The smell of warm food cooking on Christmas Morning

Sitting down on Christmas Eve and Christmas night to watch a White Christmas with Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby, and Rosemary Clooney

The quiet in the house the night before and the night of Christmas

Tracking the "Claws" with government satellites

Thinking maybe, just maybe I will see the tail end of a red suit, if only I would remember my glasses.

Happy Holidays to you all!

Do you see this look?

I am taking a little diversion from the holiday memory to show you all a little something from my childhood/adulthood. This is a face of a woman who has nurtured, loved, and by the look in the picture has given me the business when necessary. I am thirty nine years old and this face is warning me. Warning me to tow the line, warning me to make her laugh in the next 30 seconds or guns will be blazing. This is the ultimate mom face and I swear to you folks, it makes me fold like a house of cards every time. A whimpering pup in the corner, duck and cover man the hatch is going to blow!

So in short, Cheers to Moms everywhere! I have not the mom face, but looking at this mug will make me a believer for the rest of my life. LOL

More Holiday Memories

The anticipation of snow falling on our secret destination spot to play in the snow.

The smell of freshly cut pine in the house.

The kids asking me to sing to them the one about the "claws" ;o)

The one and only year my mom, dad and I made a popcorn wreath to go onto the tree. We did this only one year for two reasons, too dang hard to string and we are popcorn junkies and ate most of the string before it made it to the tree.

My first tree as an "adult" in my own home. Although it pails in comparison with my first tree with my husband and eldest daughter.

More to come.
