Welcome our newest monkey to the family

Our family had a wonderful event, a new little monkey to love has come into our world at last.  I can't wait to hold my little nephew, give him kisses on the cheeks and smell that sweet "baby-ness".  Congratulations my sister!

Here are a few more pictures from Miss H's little monkey shower.

Musical Repair?

Music is a big part of my emotional state or reorientation of the current state.  I have been listening to much music to get through my days, my thoughts, my process of dealing with my wee ones, getting through a work day, getting through a mundane household task.  Sometimes it makes the event fun, sometimes it makes my mind calm and concentrate.  Sometimes, sometimes music allows my soul to breathe.

Whether it is the notes that amend to my story or lyrics that speak my heart, music as a whole is healing.  I have go to genres of music for situations, Funk for fun, Jazz for stability, Classical/Opera for soothing, Pop/Alternative for the touchy feely moments, and everything else for in between.

This song, particularly the lyrics bode well for me at the moment.  Don't go far, it will change soon, kind of like changing my socks.  Oh, I don't wear socks.  Well that just sucked, bad analogy, ok,  let's go with changing hair styles.  DAMN! I don't do that either.  Stay with me, I'll get one, hold on, it's forming in my mind........LIKE CHANGING MY SHOES!  YES! And for those who know me, know me well, this is a good analogy that fits.

Too many shadows in my room
Too many hours in this midnight
Too many corners in my mind
So much to do to set my heart right
Oh it's taking so long i could be wrong, i could be ready
Oh but if i take my heart's advice
I should assume it's still unsteady
I am in repair, i am in repair

Stood on the corner for a while
To wait for the wind to blow down on me
Hoping it takes with it my old ways
And brings some brand new look upon me
Oh it's taking so long i could be wrong, i could be ready
Oh but if i take my heart's advice
I should assume it's still unsteady
I am in repair, i am in repair

And now i'm walking in a park
All of the birds they dance below me
Maybe when things turn green again
It will be good to say you know me
Oh it's taking so long i could be wrong, i could be ready
Oh but if i take my heart's advice
I should assume it's still unready
Oh i'm never really ready, i'm never really ready
I'm in repair, i'm not together but i'm getting there
